“It was miraculous. It was almost no trick at all, he saw, to turn vice into virtue and slander into truth, impotence into abstinence, arrogance into humility, plunder into philanthropy, thievery into honor, blasphemy into wisdom, brutality into patriotism, and sadism into justice. Anybody could do it; it required no brains at all. It merely required no character.” -Joseph Heller, Catch-22
Thank you, friend from my favorite state (albeit with a governor who released Tina Peters to his eternal damnation) for this Heller quote. It is a perfect fit for the upside down world in which we live. Greed is good. Up is down and down is up.
The addendum also states that Trump does not have any taxable income from the $1.776B "settlement". I thought Congress was the only entity to write tax laws? Since Florida has no personal income tax, Trump would be exempt from FL tax for the grift.
I wouldn't be surprised if AG Todd Blanche is waiting to see whether Russell Vought's proposed rule change, "Guidance for Federal Financial Assistance," goes through. This rule change would enable his Office of Management and Budget to give political appointees the power to approve scientific grants, along with other authority, to combat what he claims has been a "woke policy agenda."
The period to make your comments against this anti-science agenda, and against yet another power grab by the Project 2025 collaborators, is until July 13. When I sent in my comment, it occurred to me: What if Vought is devising a way for the $1.8 billion slush fund to be redirected and redistributed through the OMB if his proposed rule change were to go through? This Administration has been able to get around Congressional authority in other ways.
Perhaps Public Notice would be interested in keeping an eye on this.

Yeah, Polis went to the Dark Side. I’ll be glad to see him go.

Nothing speaks of integrity like an attorney who won’t put something in writing.
'“Utterly stupid, morally wrong – take your pick,” Sen. Mitch McConnell scoffed.'
SO TRUE!! The way to prevent this bald-faced theft & self-dealing is to impeach. But McConnell is also a thief and self-dealer.
✍️Until that prick puts it in writing I don't believe it. Cheetos McFatty recently said he changes his mind when it suits him…..
