It's interesting that Trump continues to be referred to as a 'billionaire' which most likely isn't true today and most definitely won't be true when Judge Engoron makes his decision about how much (everything) Trump and fam will have to disgorge. This will have to satisfy those of us out here who do continue to wonder what it will take to get someone to just treat him like anyone else would be treated in his situation...

Thanks for writing the obvious, but not commented on enough, truth that Trump is getting much better treatment than an ordinary defendant would be getting...though I have high hopes justice will catch up to him. One thing that wasn't mentioned was that people found in possession of top secret documents at home don't usually get bail. The eventual prison sentences get backdated from the day of their arrest which is the last date of their liberty.

I wish the press would not encourage him to make speeches from the courthouse steps or lobby every time he appears in court, another thing that no other defendant gets to do. It's another opportunity for him to lie, impugn, and rant without being called on any of it. Reporters should turn their backs and leave.

I would love for every reporter to ask every Republican in Congress whether or not they believe that Trump is immune from all prosecutions from before, during and after he was in the White House. Is Trump above the law? They won't answer but I want to see them squirm. Then I want to see a video compilation of it. On another note: “The Gag Order violates President Trump’s most fundamental First Amendment rights. Even worse, it gives no consideration to the First Amendment rights of President Trump’s audience, the American public, to receive and listen to his speech,” Actually, I'd like some protection so I never have to receive and listen to him talk. You can't filter it all out; most of it, but not all.

What a colossal POS. And all the people supporting him? Fully cognizant of who and what he is. So disturbing.

too bad we don't have the forfeiture provisions after conviction that the UK has. It would be LOVELY for trump to have to disgorge all the money he is making from this behavior.

I wish that the judge would ask him if he wants to make sure that he is part of a one tier system, and then lock him up for misbehaving and contempt of court. The thing is for the Judge to ask Trump directly, "Do you feel that you are not getting the same treatment everyone else would? Would you like to be treated like everyone else?" I am big on put your money where your mouth is.

We really need cameras in the courtroom to counteract is disinformation on court breaks, rallies and Truth Social. He's such an effin' wrecking ball.

Re Trump’s behavior wrt the current trial:

1) it doesn’t change the fact that Judge Engoron found that the state proved fraud before the trial started

2) since this is a bench, not jury, trial, Trump had more leeway to behave badly.

3) in the criminal trials that Trump faces, it’s almost impossible that he’ll testify. And at least in Judge Chutkan’s court room, I expect she’ll require better behaviour

I’m so tired of the “President Trump” bs. And one good reason to not jail him, unfortunately, is that he WANTS to be jailed.
