Everything written above is sad but true. I have some optomism thought that Trump's celebrity status is starting to lose its lustre. The attendance at his rallies are down in number and enthusiasm. His hoped for masses of people protesting at the court haven't materialized. The trouble with being a celebrity is that you have to remain interesting and Trump has been known for 8 years and he keeps saying the same things. He's still way too close to winning in November but I suspect he's going to make a poor campaigner because he's increasingly self focused. less and less disciplined and (horrors!) predictable to the point of being boring.

MSM has learned that Agent Orange's drama is profitable for them. The Washington Post and the NYT have reported revenues going up when they are covering his drama. It's about money. Integrity went out the window ages ago. Endangering people's lives is just the collateral damage of today's clickbait news. They appear like old ass whores working the grift in order to maintain their own relevance without saying anything of value. That's not journalism. Agent Orange is their crack. They will crawl on their belly looking for their lost rock in high grass. MSM is a constant disappointment. What would be lovely, is to trust again. We have been lied to and treated like we are all Kardashian fans.

Journalism is not only a job but an activity that requires one to actively seek truth and clarity in a serious manner. The carnivalization of the press is parallel to the carnivalesque nature of much of the nation's contemporary lack of civic virtue.

Thank you for calling this out and focussing on it. Trump would be nothing without his helpers, schools of fish, especially the media school. He said so at the outset. And media coverage, FAME, has been his whole life. But he is only a human being after all and he, this monster that folks have risen, will come to an end; this plague will come to an end. He cannot go on and on. Right now he is showing his weakness. Hopefully the tide has turned. But the media is also a monster- even the more responsible truthful media. They too are the sum of individuals with temptations, bottom lines, and egos.

It is going to be interesting to watch the defense's attempts to discredit Cohen for lying because what he went to prison for (on the lying to Congress charge) was a lie to favor trump and his agenda. When he pled guilty he said that he had lied "out of loyalty to trump." Redirect after cross-examination is going to be fascinating.

How is the press going to treat it???

The reporters should have been warned ONE TIME about not revealing facts about the jury. If they didn't obey, they should have been kicked out of the courthouse - permanently.
