"So chirp on, Ken. You’re not the hero we want. You’re not the hero we need. But you’re the very marginally less horrible Republican we’ve got."

Any attempt by Democrats at making the country governable again is going to come at the cost of taking some very awful people at face value who we very definitely can’t take at face value, right?

Thank you for writing in more depth about a Republican in the House. Right now they are just a monolith of lying, corrupt, unethical "Vollidiots." The German expression Vollidiot, with a book and a film by that title, means COMPLETE IDIOT in English. In other words, everything they touch turns to SHIT! They are intentionally destroying our country, and for most of them it is self-righteous sport to play with our lives. They are destroying our economy, and making millions of people's lives miserable. That is not governance, let alone good governance. I am outraged that Tommy Tuberville is able to and is blocking military promotions and leaving our ships out in the Mediterranean without a head of the Navy. This is preposterous, and that anyone can vote for them puts them in the Vollidiot category. The same with Rand Paul and Ted Cruz holding up diplomatic appointments to the Middle East and North Africa, as well as other places in the world. Last I read, we needed Ambassadors to Egypt, Israel, Jordan and Lebanon. People should be protesting in writing and by taking to the streets. These Vollidiots should all be charged with treason. In holding up these appointments they are aiding and abetting our enemies. At the same time, I would like to hear that work-a-rounds are being investigated.

Well good for Ken Buck. But I'll want to see literally dozens of Republicans following the same route before I start to think rationality and reason is present in a viable and but small faction in the GOP. Stranger things have happened but I'm not holding my breathe.

Buck has not obtained beltway pundit approval which means he, unlike prominent “thoughtful” beltway Rs like Susan Collins, or the departed Ben Sasse and Rob Portman, may have some small and largely hidden principles.

Once upon a time Ken Buck said that the real reason to vote for him over his opponent Jane Norton was that he didn't wear high heels. I'm wondering with all this talk in the air about Ron DeSantis's shoes whether Ken Buck would vote for a Republican nominee who does wear high heels?

Well, THAT momentary outburst of character didn't last long, did it?

When Buck resigns from the Freedom Caucus and states that publicly, joining the more

moderate rethuglicans, I may

consider him for speaker. He's sitting next to Grabber Gaetz with a huge grin on his

face. That coal mine is a far

right breeding ground and any sensible canary would give it a wide berth.

The Republican party needs

to clean up its act, pronto.

Noah, I really appreciate getting this kind of information. While I do think that decisions in the past are important, I believe that positions adopted now are also important.

So Buck's votes on abortion, climate change, and the covid crisis turn me off.

I hope that in the process of choosing a leader, many others vying for the position suddenly become more moderate. And, of course, stay that way.

Thanks for the information. By the way, is that Chuck Schumer in that picture? I guess it could be, since they voted the same on the kevin issue.
