What a tangled web. Please forgive those who will not spend their beautiful minds on this but want to get to the bottom line here. The result is that this case continues and it becomes a distraction for Republicans to use in campaign 2024. I have lost any faith I might have had that it matters what the truth is to those who wish to use this to spin lies about the Biden Crime Family. In the meantime the Trump Crime Family goes off the hook. If whataboutism is the means for Republicans, Democrats do not have to go high. The Trump Crime Family has much more possible illegal fodder to mine. But that said Democrats needs to focus the public's attention on Trump's real criminal behavior and his ineligibility to run for president. Hunter Biden should clear himself and we should keep our eyes on the prize. .. getting rid of Trump.
I don't know much about criminal law, but isn't one way out of this mess for Weiss as special counsel to charge Hunter Biden with exactly the same level of crimes as in the plea deal? And simply state that there is not enough evidence to charge him with anything else?
Maybe we should start calling him Benghazi Weiss. Why wouldn’t he be more afraid that charging baseless counts would just lose him the cases. Or at best get him a hung jury. I can see my grandchildren ready to retire and still facing the same boring news.

I struggle to understand how any lawyer can survive 5 years, be paid and not produce a result. I guess that sums up the GOP

At this point, Weiss’s main motivation is to have something to show for his five year investigation.
He doesn’t have the courage or morals to say what’s he’s got is basically nothing.
So he’ll never just wrap this up as would happen for any other defendant. He’ll just continue to make things worse for himself.
