Is there actually anyone who cares about what Chuck Grassley thinks, says or does? All most want is for him to resign.

Unfortunately, as President Pro Tem of the Senate, we cannot ignore him.

He is exhibit A for Senate term limits or mandatory retirement age. Or maybe Strom Thurmond was exhibit A.

All of this reads like they found George Orwell’s lost sequel to Animal Farm.

Another go to republican tactic. Salt government agencies with right wing loyalists who make scandalous but unfounded accusations against "the libs" in their agency. The plants then become courageous whistle blowers who the republicans can turn to to amplify the lies. And then the right wing hysteria and media coverage of it begins. They are primed and ready to produce distraction on demand.

Liz, my confidential deep state FBI informant tells me that Senator Grassley was treated with anti-psychotic medications in the 1977-1983 time period but was taken off them at the orders of a doctor who was connected to Chinese premier Mao Zhedong's former physician Li Zhisui who was living in the U.S.at the time! There was a coverup ordered through back channels by director J. Edgar Hoover!! The Chinese had moles and operatives in our government even back then!!!

I am of course joking about all this: it's a parody of conspiracy theories in general

The banality and boringness of daily life as well as its unplanned chaos vexes s certain personality type. They much prefer an ordered universe where there are known hidden causes for any state of affairs.

I love all of your contributors but this has to be the single most informative *and* entertaining piece of writing that I have seen PN produce.

The writing style is magnificent. I love the touches of snark. They are well placed for emphasis and really highlight the ridiculousness of Grassley and Patel's latest harebrained scheme.

Keep up the great work, team, and I will continue my support as a paid subscriber.

Grassley is in an elite cadre of kooks and nutcases, exceeded only by Ron Johnson in his love of conspiracy theories. He may not be the most odious member of the Senate - tough call, but I'm going with Mike Lee - or annoying - Tommy Tuberville - but he is in a class by himself when it comes to dumb conspiracy theorizing. Find something stupid and unbelievable and feed it to Chuck, he'll gobble it up.

Oh boy—here we go again! If the 2020 election was truly stolen as MAGA claims … why was there no Trump v. Biden? It’s been five years … and a tonnage of promises … but no case. Donald afraid of a deposition? Of testifying under penalty of perjury? Thought so.
