I find myself thoroughly disgusted by the meanness and hostility with which our public servants are greeted by GOP congresspeople. I can recall watching many congressional hearings during TFG's administration, yet all I seem to remember vividly was the hostility with which the public servants approached Democratic congresspeople. I don't recall any of the Democratic congresspeople involved in any of the hearings attempting to bully, mock, insult, or otherwise pillory public officials into responding to their questions (or grandstanding, as much of the GOP "questioning" appeared).

It would appear that the GOP is wholly unwilling to accept the truth at face value; they are unwilling to allow our public officials to adequately address the problems facing us, pandemic-wise or otherwise. They are determined to prove their supposed "moral superiority" at the expense of civility and diplomacy, and are obviously convinced that the only way is THEIR way. That way lies madness.

I am not only aghast about Paul and Marshall in this hearing but their existence in our governing body. They have no shame. Fauci did well. He's fallible but they are worse, craven, even evil. So many were wrong and misguided at the start of Covid. The mask issue at first was about saving a short supply of the respirators for first responders. And then we needed science about transmission, masks! We were washing our groceries! Fauci is honest, forthright, well intentioned, has integrity and can defend himself when pushed.
