Every point made is exactly how this lifelong Democrat feels. No more cowards. No more AIPAC. My congresswoman, Sarah Elfreth in MD refuses to discuss the fact that she accepted $5,000,000 from AIPAC. I have called repeatedly, and her people will not answer questions. She easily won the primary. I will not vote for her in the general election unless she explains why she took dirty money and vows not to accept any more funds from them. It is time to stand up to the cowards in the Democratic party.

And this is why we strongly need campaign finance reform. No PAC that pushes the interests of another country should have such sway over our government.

Perhaps Dems should take clues from Hungary or Albania—citizens protest while politicians justify … or stubbornly remain silent.

Love this column. I agree with all of it and I am 66 years old. One word to the wise, those who run on these noble (with a capital N) principles must be prepared to fight smartly once they attain office. You will come into contact with people you totally disagree with and compromise more than you would like (if that is still possible). Good luck Lambs. I am rooting for you!!

Winston Churchill quotes come to mind for how we need to vociferously fight for our freedom:

“This is the lesson: never give in, never give in, never, never, never, never—in nothing, great or small, large or petty—never give in except to convictions of honour and good sense. Never yield to force; never yield to the apparently overwhelming might of the enemy.”

“We shall go on to the end… we shall fight on the beaches, we shall fight on the landing grounds, we shall fight in the fields and in the streets, we shall fight in the hills; we shall never surrender.”

Here in Colorado, our attorney general Phil Weiser beat Senator Michael Bennet in the governor’s race. Weiser is an outspoken fighter for regular citizens; for example, as attorney general, he fought and beat a proposed merger of two large grocery chains. (Colorado is a Democratic state, essentially assuring he will become our governor). Here is one quote from him: “In the face of a lawless, bullying administration... we need a leader who will fight back and never bend the knee.”

Instead of using terms such as 'centerest', list the policies that differ from the left. Are there laws they both want to pass?

Democrats want bulldogs. Republicans perhaps want same … but get poodles.
