And of course, the people making the pothole repairs in the bridge were Hispanic, of course, they were, white men won’t do those jobs anymore. I live in a small town of Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, and almost all of the road working crews, the ones actually doing the work, are Hispanic. The white guys in the white construction helmets are the ones standing around with their arms folded, watching the Hispanic guys do the work. As the Republicans devolve into more and more ridiculousness, and yes, I’m gonna say more stupidity, I continue to be amazed that people actually listen to them and follow them. But then I see the video clips of the men and women that they’re interviewing at rallies And I do understand somewhat. Of course trump did say, “ I love the poorly educated.” Well, they certainly love him and all the people that follow him, they are members of the Maga cult.
R’s can’t use the border or infrastructure bills here since they voted against both; also the former was voted on years ago. What we have is R’s playing to despair and that government doesn’t work. What is likely is regulations were loosened by R’s, so inspections of bridge and ship were not up to speed. The choice in November: Biden or Dictatorship.

What's ironic is, were it not for the dire NEED for the infrastructure bill, the doomed maintenace crew may not have even been on that bridge fixing potholes.
It's a terrible (but predictable) thing to see the Republcans going on a fact blind (or fact resistant) splurge of blaming DEI, immigration (??!!!) and whatever for the tragedy but I'm inclined to think it's one of the least damaging things they do - at least compared to abortion bans, transphobia, anti-immigrant rhetoric. The people who take it half seriously are probably beyond hope of being politically rational. But it will only get independent voters and the ever declining numbers of rational Republican voters to think this mob is simply not to be taken seriously.
Did MTG really think there was not going to be a "serious investigation" unless she called for it? Also, I bet she quit praying the minute she learned that the victims were non-white.
So an event KILLING immigrants somehow results in increasing the danger of immigration, as perhaps via Replacement Theory? Because the worker's children will get benefits and thus breed more? The MAGAT approach to logic is astounding.

I watched some snippets of Fox News regarding this tragedy, and some of their pundits referred to the bridge collapse as a "crime scene". They so want this accident to be something they can blame on Biden, his administration or the "deep state". When the investigation is complete, and its results published, I'm sure they'll be yelling that it's a "cover up", because that is what MAGA does.
It’s all about delay…Republicans don’t care about our collective indignation or governing, just about running out the clock in Congress and distracting us with their hysterics and appalling behavior waiting for Trump to seize power. Delaying and gaming the system is what their unhinged leader does best and he has taught them well. They forget the only reason they are allowed to exist spewing their shameful, racist, bigoted threats is because of the freedoms granted to all of us in this melting pot of America.
