That too! From what I've observed from the outside, bar associations tend to move at a glacial pace when it comes to censuring, never mind disbarring, members. Maybe a member of the American Bar Association or the National Bar Association could weigh in on this? (The NBA's membership comprises primarily African American attorneys and judges.)
I say let the lower courts continue to deliver well-deserved backhanded bitch slaps to these goons and anti-democracy thugs at the Department of Injustice.
The sad reality is that the SCOTUS Shameful 6 in all likelihood will continue their pogrom of striking down any sane lower court rulings that do not comport with their mission to coronate the all-powerful man-child Mad King who can give the middle finger to court rulings and laws passed by Congress he doesn't like.
Unless and until there is a massive push to require that the Supremes abide by the same ethical rules and standards required of the lower courts and the shadow docket is dismantled, righteous rulings of the lower courts will continue to be be blown up.
The cracks are widening. There will be a day of reckoning. Todd Blanche should not be AG. He’s worse than that bimbo Bondi. Neither one has a soul. The ship is sinking… time for the rats in congress to start jumping… if they want to preserve any shred of dignity they may have left.
When is the next protest?
Thanks, Lisa. Great news with which to end the week❤️.
I fear it’s only a brief respite from the madness, but a respite nonetheless. Tom Emmer still spews lies and hate for MInnesota politicians on a regular basis, unchecked by colleagues including Amy Klobuchar.
That's a witch hunt that should crash and burn, if there were any justice in the USA. Except our DOJ is more like the DOI or Department of Injustice AKA the law firm of Blanche and Patel.
Hopefully all of this will serve as a cautionary tale for voters for a few generations: our complacency allowed our democracy to be co-opted by selfish, corrupt, and --frankly-- evil people who found ways to use our 250 years of progress to enrich themselves and enact their bigoted agenda against our Constitution and our population.
VOTE IN NOVEMBER: we have SEEN what the Republican cult wants to turn America into, and it's NOT a Constitution-honoring democratic republic! Remove them ALL for a generation and let's get back to forming a more perfect union, establishing ACTUAL justice, PERMITTING domestic tranquility, providing for a COMPETENT, PROFESSIONAL common defense, promoting the general welfare for ALL Americans with science, compassion and AMERICAN values, and securing the blessings of liberty to OURSELVES *AND* those who follow us, making America better every successive generation.
THIS is what our founders and 250 years of AMERICANS opposed to fascism and/or one-man rule fought and often died for. THIS is what America TRULY stands for, codified into Preamble values and a Constitution that was created to restrict GOVERNMENT, NOT CITIZENS.
Your last paragraph perfectly explained what is going on:
"We’re in the right. We know it. Judge Schiltz certainly knows it. Even the administration knows it. But they’re scared to death of their own people, of those who will put their bodies on the line to do what’s right. And they should be. That’s more powerful, more noble, more heroic, than anything the administration will ever have to offer."
Trump is certainly afraid of his own people voting against him and the Republicans he wants to remain in office. He must be particularly afraid of women, by promoting the SAVE act that makes it measurably harder for a majority of women to vote than it is for men to vote.
His cancellation of the signing of an act that would work toward more affordable housing for hard-working Americans is obviously the behavior of a spoiled child who thinks he should always get his way. Unfortunately, the Supreme Court is acting as Trump's indulgent mother by doing everything possible to keep his little feelings from being hurt by the big bad federal judges.
Maybe if the federal judges keep doing their job, as they have lately, I will experience some hope for the country's future. At the moment, however, I see no reason to celebrate July 4.
Judge Schlitz calls the subpoenas "blatantly unlawful and unethical". Let's hope Minnesota officials move for sanctions and that someone initiates a complaint to the Minnesota Office of Lawyers Professional Responsibility over this.
Daniel Rosen's office is a disgrace. Nothing changes until they are more afraid for their law licenses and their futures than they are of Trump and his sleazy DOJ.
TrumpCo uses the DoJ to harass, threaten & intimidate. They file lawsuits knowing that if the defendent opposes, he or she will incur great cost and devote much time. I think that in 2029, when Trump is flushed from office, the many people Trump's captured DoJ have sued but then lost-to - or those who they sued and then voluntarily dismissed because they knew that they would lose - should sue for damages. Get an honest compensation fund (in contradistinction to all the self-dealing grift and bribery Trump in which is engaging).
The lower courts stand up … however the Supine Court remains enthroned.
I wonder so many things about this administration, but the big one at the moment is "How the hell did any of these people graduate from law school?"
My question is: "Why aren't they being disciplined by the bar associations for this blatant illegal and/or unethical behavior?"

Hallelujah❣️

I can't wait to see the DOJs arguments about the 6 people arrested for the reflecting pool nonsense.

THIS IS THE WAY.
Thank you, Lisa, for a small ray of light on this dark Friday.
