And so he picks this strategic moment to start an invasion of Greenland? Of course, he's invading with oil drilling equipment rather than troops, but the governments of Greenland and Denmark have emphatically NOT approved this mining operation, and it is soon likely to become a military confrontation With NATO. What a genius.

Pete Hegseth was accused of financial mismanagement while leading two small nonprofit organizations. He spent more than the NGO received. It's obvious he can't manage money or armaments.

He's a refugee from Fox News. What did anyone expect except that Trump and Congress chose this putz to run the military.

Excellent piece, but is your copy editor on vacation?

Noah, your blunt layout of the military defense situation we are in is sickening enough, and then you jab home the point with "Trump's oozing narcissistic wounds.'' Our weakened arsenal needs a vaccine against the Trump infection, and so far we are no more prepared to develop one than our weakened public health system is prepared to fight the next outbreak.

Why do bad leaders always assume that nobody else in the rest of the world is intelligent, thoughtful and will strike back when attacked? It happens over and over again. Our leadership is especially good at presuming everyone else is living in the stone age and we will bring them to heal. It is amazing we have any allies at all anymore.

Pathetic…. That there is not on legitimate reason to believe our Commander and Chief … people do

He is the least humane and least empathetic president we’ve ever had

Sadly, time has proven that Trump can lie his way out of just about anything!

I can't even imagine the shit-fit that would happen if the press treated trump like they treated Biden (or any Democratic president). We're just so fucked. His entire response to judicial rulings against him is to go ahead with his pogrommes anyway. I don't see a way out of the mess we're in with him.

I could be wrong here, but I think we are separated by at least an ocean from Israel and Iran, aren’t we? /s

Also Russia, whom he LOVES so much, yet is willing to help defeat a democracy across an ocean from us...and also, the Gulf of Mexico separates us from Venezuela, and the Atlantic (well, the Strait of Florida, anyway) from Cuba, and Greenland is bounded on it's south by the Atlantic Ocean, as well; yet the PedoPINO wants war with ALL of these because NOTHING says "I support and defend our Constitution" like wars of choice by an illegitimately-elected draft-dodging insurrectionist who hates the military except when he's playing Army Men with them.

Logic and reason have no foothold in this corrupt and incompetent regime: looking for any might cause mental anguish...

Ah, another fabulous garment for the nekkid emperor!

So, let's tell America's enemies that we are almost out of weapons. What a great idea.

Regarding "Trump’s priority is his ego first...," I've often said that the things he cares about can be summarized by his WEB - Wallet, Ego, Brand.

What should tell us EVERYTHING we need to understand about this regime is that the FIRST thing Co-PINOs Trump and Musk did was to fire ALL of the Inspectors General. Once the watchdogs were gone and the looting could begin unimpeded, Drinky Pete threw out any reporters who might tell the truth instead of the PedoPINO regime's disinformation/propaganda. We should not expect ANY semblance of transparency or honesty from the illegitimate insurrectionist's illegally-elected regime.

Vote in November.
