Thank you for the article. It was very well written and I now have a much better understanding of the gag orders.

Innocent people who are doing their patriotic job of testifying in a criminal case should not need personal security details.

Innocent people reporting are doing their patriotic duty. You are keeping the American public informed. I appreciate you keeping record of these events as they occur. Please stay safe Democracy needs you.

I had to laugh when you referred to goons because if you look back to to old, old cartoons that have goons in them then look at congresswoman MTG you would know why.

Never forget that, while Gabe Sterling was complaining that someone was going to get hurt, he also was simultaneously telling people to vote Republican.

“Someone’s going to get hurt, someone’s going to get shot, someone’s going to get killed.”

Not if, but when.

THEN will the gag order become enforceable??

is having to flee your home not being hurt?

I’m appalled that the ACLU is anti-gag order and therefore pro-witness intimidation.

I haven't figured out how the ACLU is taking up this case. They are protecting domestic terrorism now? Witness intimidation is a civil liberty?

Nothing about making threats is covered in the first ammendment. Maybe the judges should hold back until someone is killed? 😡

I bet many people will consider this when the ACLU begs for just 19.00 dollars a month on TV!

I’m a strong supporter of the ACLU and recognize that they’re going to sometimes take a position in support of something I’d rather they not support. Nazis marching, for example. Yeah, the ACLU is right to defend the first amendment rights, but that doesn’t mean I have to like it.

But arguing that witness intimidation should be allowed? I just do not understand the reasoning behind that.

Incredible that this isn’t already a tv series. I haven’t hit the level of bored (just disgusted) by these gangster clown morons yet.

The United States is currently under attack by elected officials who continue to seek to overthrow the Constitution. A nation that does not fight back by expelling those in open revolt cannot continue to exist.

I think ANY reasonable person knows Trump is guilty as F**k of witness intimidation and deserves more than some slap-on-the-wrist fines that even I could pay with an effort. He's not going to STFU until he's in a jail cell pending trial and realizes SOME judge doesn't give a crap who he is or who he was—he is now is a criminal defendant who seems determined to prove his own guilt while lashing out to allege his innocence...but not really, because "innocent" makes him look weak!

People are already questioning if our system of justice is truly just, so long as we let him walk free just because he was a One-Term President...who was impeached twice, and would have been removed from office if the Republican Party wasn't such a bunch of cowards afraid of his mob. The only thing that gives me hope is that it will hopefully scare the living daylights out of the MAGAts when they realize their White Savior was brought down by two Black women Prosecutors and a Black woman judge. Hopefully their own MAGA cowardice will send them skittering back under their rocks for another few decades...

Clearly he’ll just keep pushing the envelope because he WANTS to get tossed in jail; it will make him a martyred victim and his base may riot. However I think the J6 sentences - especially the long ones - have had a cooling effect. Thanks, Liz and Aaron for consistently excellent reporting.
