Simply outrageous.

And yet, trump received 60% support from service members.

Rasmussen gives that figure, which seems to include both veterans and those on active duty. What I'm curious about is how it breaks down by race and ethnicity.

Conditions on that ship sound as bad as many prisons.

From serving your country … to serving a sentence on a ship.

When Trump leaves the presidency, is convicted of multiple crimes, I know exactly where I want his sentence served.

RE: "If other people’s traumatic brain injuries get in the way, the problem is obviously with the people who are injured, not with the infallible Donald Trump." ~ Berlatsky

Trump has insisted on Truth Social that the war “will all work out well in the end. It always does!” ~ Berlatsky

HANNAH ARENDT: "The chief qualification of a mass leader has become unending infallibility: he can never admit an error.....The propaganda effect of infallibility, the striking success of posing as a mere interpreting agent of predictable forces, has encouraged in totalitarian dictators the habit of announcing their political intentions in the form of prophecy.....Mass leaders in power have one concern which overrules all utilitarian considerations: to make their predictions come true." ~ from 'The Origins of Totalitarianism' (1951)

That's another book I don't dare to reread just yet, along with Sinclair Lewis's _It Can't Happen Here._

Caligula: Roman emperor, yrs 37-41CE. Historically known as insane, and for his cruelty and assassinating political rivals. Cruelty for pleasure. Ring a bell?

But Caligua liked horses!

Who knows what Trump is into?

David J. Sharp's avatar

These days, I don’t think even he does.

Just F these people and congressional Republicans for allowing this war to continue.

Every day I hope that this is not who "we" are, and every day I'm afraid it is. If it is, it's long past time to look in the mirror and deal with what we see there. (Oscar Wilde's story "The Picture of Dorian Gray" has been on my mind a lot lately.)

Know what you mean, that tale of hideous sins hidden on a portrait tucked in the attic while the subject of the portrait continues to be horrible, but APPEARS to have eternal youth and success while his evil transports to the painting. First read it about 63 years ago when I was about 12, have re-read it several times since. It now makes me think of Felon47 being so able to avoid any accountability for the numerous disgraceful and disgusting things he has done to so many people. Can't imagine how horrible Diaper Don's portrait must look at this point were he the subject of such a painting.

Trump is a draft dodger. He is a despicable coward.

He's also a loser.

Disgusted and appalled does not begin to cover how this report makes one feel…why any person with a functioning moral compass thinks this might be ok is what’s wrong with America these days.

Typically, officers eat separately from enlisted sailors. If what they are eating is even slightly different from the enlisteds, there could be another rank of trouble.

And while canned fruit and veg have a long shelf life, the carrots pictured here do not seem enough to provide even a third of the daily vitamin C required. The thought of having to log all of the food served daily is a dire one as well as contemptible.

I won’t be shocked if we have a return of scurvy on naval vessels before this is over.

It’s time foe the military people to tell child raper and mcdrunky to FUCK OFF.

The treatment our military is getting from these aholes in office is just so f^^ outrageous. Shocking but not surprising.

I like Presidents who aren't convicted felons and adjudicated rapists.

Debi's avatar

Me, too. I also like Presidents who aren't tax cheats, who haven't had banks closing accounts because they were use for illegal money laundering, who haven't been caught stealing money from charities they created, who don't treat our military like garbage, who don't view the US Treasury as a personal checking account, who actually know they are employees of WE THE PEOPLE, who comprehend the White House and National Parks BELONG TO ALL AMERICANS, and who understand they are passing through - not permanently installed.

RE: "Hegseth has also embraced the idea touted by Trump and his Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. that people only get sick because they’re weak. In line with that eugenic ideology, he suspended the flu vaccine requirement for US troops. The result was a massive flu outbreak..." ~ Berlatsky

BBC: Fox host says he 'hasn't washed hands in 10 years' | 11 February 2019

Fox News host Pete Hegseth has said on air that he has not washed his hands for 10 years because "germs are not a real thing".

Speaking on Fox and Friends, Hegseth said the infectious micro-organisms did not exist because they could not be seen with the naked eye.

"I inoculate myself," added the Harvard and Princeton graduate.

His remarks came after co-hosts Ed Henry and Jedediah Bila made fun of him for eating left-over pizza.

"My 2019 resolution is to say things on air that I say off air," Hegseth added.

His comments were met with both support and concern on social media.

Kegbreath isn't qualified to pick up trash along a highway and CERTAINLY is incompetent when it comes to overseeing the Pentagon or our military. Felon47 couldn't have picked a more incompetent idiot if he tried. However, looking over all of his selections for high positions it sure seems as if total incompetency for the job is a top criteria for being selected.

David J. Sharp's avatar

Donald and Pete - true paragons of High T manliness - preen before the mirror (enlarging the makeup room was Job One for Hegseth) and acknowledge others only for accolades.

Debi's avatar

And every time I see Kegsbreath, I wonder what the heck he puts on his hair - looks like lard or Crisco

Not so fond memories of Butch Wax …

Debi's avatar

OMG - recall my younger brothers being forced to use that when they had crew cuts - talking around 1956 to 1960. Had completely forgotten about that, but I still find my mind going straight to Crisco or lard. It looks so greasy and it may just be that it hasn't been washed for a very long time. Wouldn't be surprised.
