Thank you for articulating this so well. It's outlandish that we have a pathological, compulsive liar for a president.

he's not delusional, he lies intentionally, with purpose. he's a sociopath.

With Trump - over a full decade now - it’s all about The Show. Reality, as in “reality television”, just muddies the waters.

A field near Shanksville, Pennsylvania, was peaceful before Sept. 11, 2001. It is peaceful, still, but more alive than ever. The trees resiliently aleaf, summer or winter. Wind chimes breathing with shimmered wings. Black-eyed Susans, goldenrod, and purple asters, consolation-scented.

And if you offer their eternal bearers a fairly pure heart, they will whisper-wise to the hero you can be, still.

Whether delusional or intentional, the lying stems from a mental defect that's particularly dangerous in a man holding his position. Age may contribute to the degree, but this feature has always been in his character. He can embellish smoothly and with great detail. His tale of his uncle's (the MIT professor from whom he inherited his genius) experience as teacher of Ted Kaczynski - aka Unabomber - is a perfect example. Kaczynski never attended MIT, and Uncle John was dead before he ever made the headlines, but Trump chuckles easily in relating how his uncle spoke of what an exceptional student Ted was. Just another Trump tale that never happened, but delivered as if casually recalling a lived experience. This is a profoundly sick man. Any failure to keep reminding of this is media malpractice and a disservice to the country. Thank you for doing your part. At least there’s the chance this might make it into the historical record about our favorite president.

He’s either outright lying or is so demented he has no concept of reality. Either is disqualifying for a President in my opinion.

I also wish media would frame it that way.

Excellent piece, Lisa. I have no disagreement that he is "delusional." None whatsoever.

But I disagree when you write "It's not 'disputed.'" because it is disputed by the only people who make a difference under the 25th amendment to the Constitution...namely, the Cabinet, the House, and the Senate. And that is why I am increasingly concerned that we are doomed.
