Under this government it is now the Unsafe States of America. Unsafe for visitors, unsafe for immigrants, unsafe for citizens, unsafe for everyone but the #ConArtists in Washington.
Imagine being a foreigner and wanting to attend the Olympics or one of the World Cup final games - would you come here? Turned away at customs after arriving here and sent home, detained upon arrival - or violently arrested and detained indefinitely for unknown reasons by masked goons on the streets. I wouldn't visit Russia and I wouldn't come here either.
He cut thousands of jobs from the IRS—specifically the ones who go after complex tax cheats—and will cost taxpayers tens of millions in lost tax revenues but he wants 18k new ICE goons to round up innocent brown people. What a fiscal genius.
Even if the goons’ friends and relatives wanted to out them, they’re surely too afraid to, by now. Im sure they feel that any media person willing to write about it could not protect them - or that no government representative would.
I find, that b/c the goons are clearly afraid to show their face means they’re afraid of the rest of us. The folks on the street.
It’s an advantage not discussed. It should not be a missed opportunity.
I encourage anyone who reads this to document what is happening, even if it’s not impacting you directly.
How can the rest of us encourage the goons’ friends and family to anonymously out these guys?
To whom would they send a letter or unsigned note? What’s the best way to protect their identities?
Where are the ethical hackers and cybersecurity peeps? There’s got to be a way around this kidnapping program. We’re not dealing with the Green Berets, here.
Reading about the hateful mistreatment of these gentle folk who cut our grass, janitor our buildings, is turning my stomach. No way is this the right way to treat our fellow man.
These are not trained agents. These are uncontrolled, violent, psychopathic trash. The absolute dregs of society. Any who "cheer" them on, encourage them, should beware. These sick thugs know no loyalty, acknowledge no boundaries. They will violently turn on any who get in their way, attract their notice.
Creatures driven solely by hate and the love of violence know no loyalty. Their brains are horribly deformed and stunted in ways incomprehensible to a true human being. They know only darkness and pain.
Mobs may be useful...for a time. But they are not ultimately controllable, containable. They will eat each other.
Every piece on the horrors of ICE should also point out how ineffective this admin is at actually deporting illegal immigrants and the percent that are “violent criminals” since that was supposedly the point… cruelty is obviously the point and maybe the none completely racists and cultists will see past their spin eventually. Also hope states take the lead on allowing local law enforcement to protect people from non-ID’d goons.
Flea markets, grade schools … brave ICE goons strive to protect (white) America from used clothing and open young minds—what depravities will these brown people come up with next to profane our hallowed shores?
Justin, I am so glad that you spent a lot of time focusing on the Gestapo masked marauders who are attacking anyone and everyone who get in their way. In a recent editorial in our local newspaper, Rich Lowery, now editor-in-chief of the National Review and noted right wing figure, used his entire column to accuse the PROTESTERS against ICE raids of being the ones who are masking up in great numbers. WTF? Down is up and up is down. Look, his accusation would be laughable if it weren't so outrageously false. The truth of the matter is that the overwhelming majority of those wearing masks are the unidentified SS thugs who are causing havoc in the streets and terrorizing the people. A prime example is shown in the video of Narciso Barranco, the man who was attacked by unidentified masked Neanderthals while working at his lawn maintenance job in Santa Ana, CA. He was pepper sprayed, thrown on the ground and severely beaten and it is nauseating to watch. Alas, this is not an isolated incident. When will this reign of terror end?
Thanks for this coverage. I'm finding myself more and more infuriated with each passing day by these reports and the concurrent lack of coverage in most media outlets. To be fair, some stories break through - gardener with three sons in the Marines, for example - but the majority just pass by unnoticed by most. Yesterday's notable detention was of an Iranian couple who had fled Iran because they were Christians - and being told by Ice, in the presence of their pastor, that their protective status "didn't matter anymore" - is just the latest atrocity.
And if you think things are bad now, god help us if Trump's abomination passes Congress. It will deliver another 10,000 of these masked monsters onto our streets. It can't happen here is complete wishcasting at this point - it is happening here.
There is a general belief in the American public that Donald Trump plans to step down after his second term. He is currently 79 years old and will be 82 – almost 83 in 2029. During his first term, his blasphemous, unorthodox, and heretic approach to foreign policy and internal law and order government upended the rules-based categorization of the world. He ignored the Constitution, committed treasonous acts on January 6th, and dismantled 80 years of international order. He destroyed the Supreme Court by appointing judges who would vote in his favor no matter what the law says. After his first term, he was convicted of business fraud, 34 felony counts, and of sexual abuse. Yet with massive election assistance from Russia and his campaign convincing large numbers of voters that the economy was bad – when it was not, he won the 2024 election.
Biden remarkably rebuilt Trump’s destruction, leaving the U.S. as the fastest growing global economy. He also restored key alliances and partnerships leaving American influence intact and the world grounded in open, rules-based order. It did not last long.
Trump is now six months into his second term and “no responsible analyst can claim to predict what will happen over the course of the first year.” (Ibid) If – and that is a big “IF”, Trump leaves office in January 2029 there may be no “going back.” “His second administration’s early, seismic actions on global trade, skepticism (and hostilities) toward allies, and affection for erstwhile adversaries have already changed the United States’ role and image in the world. Four years from now, many of the familiar pillars of U.S. grand strategy – from alliances to multilateral organizations to global treaties – will likely be transformed beyond recognition. What’s more, the world these tools were intended to help manage will have changed profoundly.” (Foreign Affairs, “Absent at the Creation?”, July/August 2025) These changes will not be for the betterment of the United States of America. Trump must go.
“After 1945, the United States assumed global security and economic leadership because it believed that both served Washington’s best interests. Redefining these interests is not simply a U.S. policy matter; it means the postwar international order is less appealing to the countries that (previously) accepted American leadership as the price for a system that enabled their own security and prosperity.” (Ibid)
Trump’s leadership is more like a wrecking ball demolishing all aspects of our healthy economy and democratic society. “The administration’s rescission of Biden’s rules on AI chip exports, meanwhile, may make it easier for exquisite technologies to wind up in competitor’s hands. And the administration’s turn away from investments in clean energy technologies increases the likelihood that China could come to dominate that sector. His cuts to education and basic research funding undermine long-term U.S. competitiveness overall.” (Ibid) He is destroying our country just like he failed at every single business venture that he began.
Trump has repeatedly said that he may change the laws that govern elections and stay in the White House. Vladimir Putin was elected for a six-year term to the Russian Presidential position in 2000. Twenty-five years later he is still in the office. The 1990’s attempted rise of democracy in Russia died, and this country is now governed by one man – a totalitarian system.
Even if Mr. Trump stays in office until 2029, our democratic form of government may be lost and perhaps irrevocably vanquished. Every American needs to ask themselves if this is acceptable and if they wish to live with a dictator-form of government? If you are questioning your decision, then please read Orwell’s book called 1984 or his book called Animal Farm.
There are only two processes that may have a significant effect on this outcome. The International Criminal Court (ICC) could issue an arrest warrant for Mr. Trump due to his crimes against humanity or his illegal deportation and imprisonment of American citizens. His closure of USAID in Africa displays his bigotry against Blacks and has resulted in a genocide. One adult has died every 3 minutes and one child every 31 minutes due to starvation, HIV/AIDS, Malaria, and TB. Unfortunately, the ICC works at a snail’s pace. The other process is a potential third impeachment due to his bombing of Iran without Congressional approval. The law clearly states that the power to declare war is constitutionally vested in Congress. With the Republican majority in Congress, this option may not be successful a third time.
Project 2025, as compared to Orwell’s 1984 book, literally strips all individual rights from Americans. “This document proposes gutting the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency which helps keep elections secure. (Project 2025, Brennan Center for Justice). From targeting election officials to making us more vulnerable to cyberattacks (the Thought Police/1984), Trump is weaponizing parts of the government against ordinary citizens. His multipronged attack against election integrity to using the Justice Department to prosecute “perceived enemies” is an attempt to “divide and conquer.” Just like Alexei Navalny was imprisoned and murdered, American citizens are being picked up by masked men and sent to ruthless prisons in third world countries.
Project 2025, primarily written by the Heritage Foundation, has spread disinformation about purported noncitizen voting. This organization is the main author of the book guiding Trump’s authoritarian approach to government.
Project 2025 (USA-Trump), Mein Kampf (Germany-Hitler), and The Foundations of Geopolitics (Russia-Putin) ALL HAVE THE SAME THEME. They impose the will of one man over the will of the people to govern.
“Democratic self-defense may rest, in the end, on the demonstrated will of the American people – expressed, if necessary, in persistent, large-scale protest – to reject authoritarian rule.” (Ibid) This is not a rehearsal - it is the fight of our lives.
I knew it would be bad, but I never thought the Republic would crumble in 6 months. Yet who can stop him from his destruction?
GOP congressfolk openly enable El Caudillo, the Democratic establishment harrumphs uselessly, and the efforts of federal judges come to naught as SCOTUS bails him out time and again. Centers of potential resistance are bludgeoned into submission by every power our imperial presidency commands.
I do not see how this carpet bombing can be stopped.
I am extremely conflicted by both ICE's activities and the resistance to them. We are a nation of laws and laws should be obeyed otherwise we descend into anarchy and rule by those the most powerful. We become a failed state. That's the old liberal in me speaking.
On the other hand our Constitution does reserve for us the right to due process and to resist when our own government acts unlawfully as is the case here with many of the ICE activities, but not all. All governmental actions are not lawful- we learned that lesson well in the desegregation era. Citizens have the obligation to resist when governments act unlawfully.
Thank you, Justin. Great reporting. If Trump cannot dominate and rule over it...he will be happy to destroy it, even if it ruins America, not make it great. Everybody...we need to collectively step up and join Team America.

We need a country wide strike where everyone stays home to protest this unlawfulness and this regime.
100%.
What will it take to get us there? Who will lead us to that moment? If/when it comes, who will heed that call?
Definitely agree with you.
Bullies, goons, and thugs all have this in common: They are tough on the outside, but weak on the inside.
Face masks worn by “police” and working in groups allows them to be anonymous and unaccountable to cover for their internal fragility.
The regime’s thugs operate in a direct contrast to the motto of the Los Angeles Police Department: “To protect and to serve”.
Every piece on the horrors of ICE should also point out how ineffective this admin is at actually deporting illegal immigrants and the percent that are “violent criminals” since that was supposedly the point… cruelty is obviously the point and maybe the none completely racists and cultists will see past their spin eventually. The new Catch-22: SCOTUS rules against rules - but never on the merits - kicks back to the lower courts … whose findings it will then ignore.
