Let’s also not forget the number of times the Convicted Felon posted that workers have too many holidays. It completely boggles the mind how so many Americans ignored what was going on and voted for him.
Thank you, Mr. Waldman. I’m a firm believer djt won election because of the dangerously stupid who voted for him and against their own self-interest. djt will go down in history as the greatest con man in history todate.
With all due respect, it’s not news that union members are as susceptible to the culture wars as any group. Heck, they practically lined up to commit economic harakiri and vote for Ronald Reagan. When the Amazon plant in Alabama attempted to unionize, the vote split along racial lines, with white workers preferring to cast their lot with Jeff Bezos rather than make common cause with their black colleagues. Union leadership may not have driven home the importance of self-interest, but then they shouldn’t have to.
It's amazing that more people don't realize that no US corporation could survive without its workers. This is seen when unions go on strike, but still, too many people are okay with executives making higher and higher salaries and stock bonuses by claiming they're increasing the corporation's stock price. At the same time, they ignore the contributions of the workers and fail to increase their pay and benefits. Greed is a horrible and contagious virus.
One of the biggest lies is calling rich people "The Job Creators" and the rich people's claim that "I built that". Money is the grease in the system, it is not the fuel, it is not the structure, it does not do work it does not create products or deliver services. Workers did that.
Obvious by now that Trump respects no hard work - nor its workers - but wants workers nationwide to work FOR HIM. Free labor - voluntary or not - preferred. (Hey, slavery wasn’t *that* bad …)
Trump famously found excuses (bogus excuses as a rule) to not pay contractors and then telling them if they want their money they will have to sue him for it. Then Trump's lawyers, on retainer would drag out the cases for years.
Sigh: "broad swath of agencies that touch on national security in any way" Is there ANY function of government that trump doesn't think touches on national security? If he really cared about national security he'd have fired Gabbard and Hegseth long ago.
Republicans hate unions and want their workers to be slavish to the corporate overlords. But dimwitted, dolt, corporate dems take money from the same large corporations that hate unions. Dems speak a good union game but they let these corporate monsters run wild. What happened to antitrust and monopoly busting? Des shy away from breaking up the goodles, wastebooks and amazons. Why is that? Because so many dems are beholden to the same dirty money. Repubs don't give a damn if workers are underpaid, overworked and die on the job, but many dem still have their hands open to tech bro anti union trash.Of course, dems do nothing without thinking about it for years, so until they stop shaking hands with the tech bros, they are just doing half the job,

They do what they’re told.

Your article and Heather Cox Richardson’s make a great combination for Labor Day.

Precisely—stiffed the contractors, then blamed them for his mismanagement and fake bankruptcy.

Or have not appointed them in the first place.
Workers, investors, veterans, citizens. Seems like criminals are the only group largely benefiting from this craven thief.
