My word processing software is suggesting the correct spelling of Iran is Vietnam.

I think you're on to something, MIC. The word processor could also have suggested Iraq, Venezuela, Libya, Syria, Yemen, Minneapolis, Los Angels...you get my drift.

As we all know, the only way that Congress has any chance of reasserting its Article 1 constitutional duty to be a check on the executive branch is if the MAGATs are shellacked by the Democrats in the midterms. The time for aiding and abetting the sociopathic fascist monster was over a long, long time ago.

The only roadblock for a Democrat tsunami is if the demented toddler in the WH sends in troops to the polls to intimidate voters and/or declare martial law, individual MAGAt states refuse to certify the election for the Dems or they do it the old fashioned way: out and out cheat. If the latter happens, a government of the people, for the people and by the people will perish from the earth.

Everything that Trump touches dies.

Personally I think an overt effort on Trump's part to intimidate at the polls will backfire bigtime.

I hope you're right and it couldn't happen to a more deserving asshole. I hope it blows up in his face and singes every strand of what hair he has left into oblivion. What a pestilence.

This “war” amounts to no more than a distraction by T…p to take our attention from IcE, rising fuel prices, prices of food, loss on medical insurance, et al. And Congress? They’re going to find out that voters have no appetite for this BS. We don’t need another war. And any member of either House of Congress who supports T..p and his dictatorial ways will regret it and be thrown out of office. It will start in the primaries today in Texas and will move forward to November. There is no plausible excuse for supporting this madness.

We had our fill with the Iraq war, the 20 year war in Afghanistan, Syria not to mention other wars in prior years. Iran was not seen as a threat, not by our experts and not by our people. Selling another WMD story, after they turned out to be nothing more than an effort to intimidate Iraq's neighbors, will not sell well. This war will not age well and it is already very unpopular.

‘Good thing Congress isn’t alive to see this’….best laugh out loud takedown quote ever!

Donald Trump, once again, proves that white superiority … ain’t.

The regime has violated international law. What are the consequences? Seems like zero.

Where does the gorilla sit? Anywhere it wants to.

What are the consequences? Elections and a mandate to remove Trump.

To get this straight: We spent weeks gathering forces next to Iran, talked about it, spent massive numbers of hours 'coordinating' with Israel, were negotiating with Iran... And STILL we just attacked Iran, 'because Israel was going to attack and then we would be attacked...'

I actually think this was not a case of Trump lying about it as much as it is his complete and utter incompetence and Israel 'playing him'.

This has very much the taste of back when Turkey gave Trump a midnight call and told him to pull his troops out of Syria, and Trump did, immediately, without consulting anyone in his government, betraying the Kurdish soldiers who had been fighting alongside our troops for a long time.

Of course, once this Iran war started, Trump does what he always does, says whatever comes into his mind. This is no 'Grand master chess player', this is a man with advanced dementia, distracted by curtains...

Hegseth is worse than useless, and a prime example of the gross incompetence in this administration as he tries to clean up the mess Trump created.

The way I read it, Israel convinced Trump to gather his forces 'to apply pressure in the negotiations with Iran' that Israel sold as a way for Trump to look strong. Trump figured a big military show of force would help his image, and he needed a distraction from his other problems (Epstein). Hegseth followed the directions, but was not told to actually prepare for a war with Iran. Just another parade... Israel, while they 'coordinated' with the US, at the last hour (if that long) told Trump they were launching an attack, and then did launch it, while convincing Trump that with all our navy there, Iran was not going to believe we had nothing to do with it, so better a pre-emptive strike...

By the way, the endless fruitless 'negotiations' with Russia and Ukraine never resulted in us bombing anyone... At this stage in the Ukraine war, Iran is probably a more capable military opponent than Russia is. The good news is, the Iranian shipment of drones to Russia will probably slow down and we are going to have a hard lesson in drone warfare.

US has abandoned 'its people' caught in the Mideast by djt-bn savage assault on Iran -- per HCR. Yet, the country that imposed King George on the colonies not only sacks royals 'when neceasary' but also provides a lifeline for UK people caught in Mideast. Almost makes one wonder where the colonies and post-colonial America went so wrong.

Democracy is vulnerable to cheating, because it relies on Trust in our elections, and keeping our oaths. Not to mention at least some sense of unity with our fellow citizens.

The minus of ruling by tantrum is total contravention of logic and law. The plus? Bully don’t care—nyah, nyah, nyah!
