I care. Golf courses that cater to rich people (It's a big club and you ain't in it) are symptomatic of the curse of wealth inequality. I took golf lessons on a humble nine hole municipal course in Newton MA, six to be exact. They didn't take. For many low income people, golf is an excellent game to be familiar with.
East Potomac has been my husband’s “home” course for several years, and he and many others are devastated by what has been done to it in recent months. It was never supposed to be a luxury PGA Tour-type course and the island and surrounding infrastructure wouldn’t support that kind of thing anyway.
The National Links Trust has been a wonderful steward of this course and two others in the DC area (Rock Creek and Langston) and this administration has lied through its teeth about the work they do, claiming the course has fallen into disrepair. They’ve improved it a great deal in the time they’ve had the contract to operate it. It’s not the world’s fanciest course, but it’s a place where folks can pay a reasonable price to play 9-18 holes of golf on a decently well-kept course with views you can’t get anywhere else in the world.
It is now past time for either democrats or the people storm any location that the child raper is at and do a citizens arrest. He’s clearly getting more demented and out of control…e.g. the overt homoerotic comments about men, needs to be jailed ASAP.
