Good news has been relatively rare of late. This was a much appreciated exception. If only the Supreme Court Justices were as honourable as their fellow stack of Trump appointees in the lower courts.

Yes, it is certain justices on SCOTUS who have decided SCOTUS sits 'above' the law, in all regards and have allowed their honor to be for sale.

Thank you, Liz, for including all the links. I have a lot of catching up to do. What a brilliant legal bullseye your work provides.

Excellent reporting and straightforward summaries of legal smackdown of the regime personified in one hateful man. I wonder, is there ever a standard reached when the deserved reputation of Trump as a malicious, narcissistic misanthrope can immediately be entered into the record as rationale to uphold counterclaims by defendants in such suits? A picture would suffice for me, but cannot a contention be made by plaintiff that this, uh, ahem, human has such a mountain of evidence as a tortuous claimant be disqualifying in and of itself? It at least persuasive? I would think a summary brief introducing a record of such ridiculous claims would provide a rationale for cause. But then again, I am not an attorney, and haven’t ever played one, like those ‘counselors’ that choose to represent this , ah, err, man.

Thank you for this detailed reporting- I agree that if the corporations and institutions had fought back instead of bowing to Trump we would certainly be in a different place than we are at this time. The courts have held strong against his vendetta and soon Halligan will be out. He will then appoint another unqualified lawyer and he/she will continue to get slapped down by judges. He will never stop because he thrives on bullying and vengeance.

I am still bewildered why the objects of these “trollsuits” - good coinage, that - don’t countersue for malicious prosecution and abuse of office?

Courts let this happen. Every court has the ability to report lawyers who file abusive cases for bar discipline.

Lawyer disciplinary boards let this happen. They have the power to suspeend or revoke the licenses of these legal thugs.

These abuses will continue until lawyers are afraid for their livelihoods.

“CNN has undertaken a smear campaign to malign the Plaintiff with a barrage of negative associations and innuendos, broadcasting commentary that he is like a cult leader, a Russian lackey, a dog whistler to white supremacists, and a racist,” Trump whined in his complaint. “It is the stuff of tabloids cloaked as ‘honored’ news.”

Actually sounds like accurate reporting of the facts to me, but then Trump always was allergic to reality.

Also every part of this very nice article where Trump's lawyers (acting as his 'mouthpiece') described the various media companies, I could not help but note those complaints would have been better applied to Fox, but of course Fox was (usually) benefiting Trump and this is all about Trump wanting everything but fairness and justice.

Thank you for reporting on this. Hope the other media heads read your piece and learn a lesson, or at least their cowardly, risk averse lawyers read it.
