President Trump is mad at the media again. And, as with all things, he’s handling it super well, with a measured, sober, totally legal response.
OK, wait. He’s doing the opposite. He just arbitrarily barred three outlets — CNN, MS NOW, and Politico — because he doesn’t like their coverage.
It is eternally wearying to say this sort of thing, but this isn’t normal, and it isn’t how government has worked for, well, forever. It’s also not how the Constitution works, which is why the outlets are suing.
Your uncle who likes to forward hyperbolic emails from conservatives probably already sent you something about how former President Biden did far worse and removed press credentials from over 400 news agencies. You will not be surprised to find out these things are not remotely the same.
But it’s useful to look at what Biden actually did to see exactly why what Trump’s doing is so, so wrong.
