Most people do not read. Most people do not understand the law, especially immigration law., but pictures of a child abducted by the government, the same government that killed innocent people and worked to cover it up,
In other words, to make it grab the focus of the people and hence the politicians who are merely human and are dealing with the fire-hose of crimes by Trump, while they have next to no real power, and have been constantly fighting for simple access to detention centers for instance, got to give them something to work with.
As long as their faces aren't shown. And as long as they are with a trusted adult.
In the litany of heinous acts from this regime, it is harder and harder to sort through it all. For some reason the subject of concentration camos (children and adults) is just not getting discussed.
I do hear you about protecting the children, but it is their faces that will sell it so much more. Treat it like an 'Amber Alert', because that is exactly what it is. Until those children have full legal representation, they have been unlawfully kidnapped and are in deadly danger. Describe the conditions of their imprisonment and the danger of being sent to a dangerous hostile country alone, as a child. Show pictures of ICE agents in masks as the kidnappers. They want to hide their identity, then they can ALL take the 'hit' for the actions at least many of them are committing.

Sure, to people like us focused on what is happening, and ready to believe the worst about this administration, incarcerating children is enough, but Trump's minions will just claim they are 'taking care of the 'abandoned children', or some other BS lie. It is not until you add that they have NO legal representation, that they are being held FAR too long under conditions no one would want to see their children in... that it starts to matter, and THEN you make it real to them, by SHOWING them real children, as being kidnapped and held imprisoned by people trying to ship them off to some dangerous country... THEN you can wake people up and pay attention.
We can hope the simple facts should be enough, and they would have been enough under any other president, but they could only have HAPPENED under Trump, when Trump distracts attention by committing crimes and failures and countless other outrages every day, so this crime upon children does not get any 'air-time' and the crime just continues...
It's obvious that our elected officials aren't doing enough to stop this treatment of children and immigrants in general. All of us can put our efforts into making sure that your community doesn't have 287(g) agreements. All of us can petition our elected officials to do more in this area. If we don't do something, what are we doing here. It's way past time to think someone else will handle this.

The vile mastermind of the cruelty described in Ms. Shenker-Osorio, Stephen "Adolf Eichmann" Miller, has nursed a pathological hatred of brown people for most of his life. It originated when his father's successful real estate business collapsed in 1998-99. As a result, the family's million-dollar home in a posh Santa Monica, CA area had to be sold and they were forced to move to a less affluent neighborhood where he was exposed to greater ethnic diversity (read: Latinos). It was at Santa Monica High School that he began his open hostility to students who did not look like him over a host of issues that irked him. His rabid animus continued during his time at Duke University and is still quite alive today.
It is terrifying that someone in the current regime/junta who is as F-ed up as Miller can wield such unbridled power to harm and destroy the lives of babies based on his deep-seeded obsessive hatred of brown people.
I sincerely hope that if/when the Democrats win the midterms in a landslide, Miller and others of his ilk who populate this putrid administration will be forced to testify before the appropriate congressional committees to defend their unlawful and inhumane actions.

The one thing I have learned from this administration is that evil is real. There are people who thrive on hatred (like Miller) and enjoy brazenly lying to their fellow citizens (like Leavitt). There are also people so insecure that they will do anything to pump up their egos, regardless of the harm to others, even though they fail at nearly everything they touch (like Trump). Of course, there is a bit of Miller and Leavitt in Trump too.
Miller is one of the worst humans alive and any President that would choose him automatically is a cruel, horrible person. This is an executive full of deplorables. They have dragged their country into collapse and isolation that will take generations to repair if it can be done.
