Sometimes I am glad I am old. This will not end well.

How does Musk keep conning investors? His cars are death traps. His rockets keep blowing up. France has brought criminal charges against him for child-porn. His baby-mommas, who all hate him, are willing to spill incriminating info about election fraud in 2024 and he's in the Epstein files. Some people say they hope live long enough to see a certain prominent funeral. I hope I live long enough to see a certain will read, follwed by the feeding frenzy that will ensue when all those children and baby mommas rip that fortune to shreds. Bleak House for billionaires!

As Trump also reveals—that you can buy people doesn’t mean you can buy competence.

I'm waiting for some really tech savvy dude/dudess to figure out that Elon Skum is rich only on paper, and the gullibility of people stupid enough to think he's god. He NEEDS those gullible fools to give him real money.

I hope I live long enough for someone to Mangione him.

It nauseates me that the unhinged chainsaw-wielding lying lunatic hopped up on ketamine (I'm looking at you, Elon) could potentially bring the world economy crashing and burning like it's one of his SpaceX rockets. If we continue to sit idly and allow this to happen, it will make the crash of 1929 look like a walk in the park. The concentration of wealth in the hands of the oligarchs is a recipe for disaster and it is high time that these behemoth companies were carved up and their power to destroy lives was diminished. I'm not holding my breath.

Lucius's avatar

At this point it's more feasible to carve up the behemoth companies' owners than it is to carve up the companies.

I'm afraid you are right, Lucas, although that would be a good start.

Becoming the first trillionaire has always been his ketamine filled, Nazi supporting, greedy goal and he intentionally destroyed this country’s infrastructures, stole our data for nefarious purposes and believes himself a superior supreme leader. He’s nothing but a sad, pathetic horrible blot on American history and the world sees him for what he is, yet we continue to let him destroy our country and allow his perverted AI infiltrate our youth. He must be stopped held accountable.

He's one of the people that (if a functional democratic government takes over in 28*) Needs to be one of the first people to be executed.

*No, I'm not holding my breath.

My only hope is that musk becomes more a pariah than carnival barker on the world stage, since his actions are tantamount to crimes against humanity with his dismantling of USAID. How anyone can find that man attractive at any level is disturbing and disheartening. The drug addled, mecha hitler, grok child porn creator, wealthiest man in the world took pleasure in knowing that his actions with USAID would lead to the starvation of hundreds of thousands of infants and children, as he personally reaped billions in tax break benefits from trump's big billionaire's bill. musk is one of the most disturbed, deranged, demented, dolts on the planet. As musk's bank account goes into the black on taxpayer's backs, his decency account goes into the red and is near bankrupt. Not investing in anything associated with musk might not help my retirement account, but it sure helps my heart and soul feel richer.

He also gutted Veterans Services MPT.

musk has destroyed so much that helped so many in so little time. Satan blushes...

I have friends who hate Trump, but love Musk. Total cognitive dissonance.

Just think: Were it not for Nelson Mandela, Elon could have bought white South Africa and made it the Fourth Reich.

"There’s a good chance that you will be invested in SpaceX, whether you want to or not.

If like many people your 401k, 403b, or IRA includes index funds, SpaceX will probably be slotted into your holdings."

Ha, joke's on you, I'm a millennial. I don't have any money to invest.

here is dean baker's take on the musk thing. https://cepr.net/publications/wall-street-says-that-a-company-that-loses-billions-is-worth-trillions/

Baker is one of the only economists that predicted the stock market housing crash. his take is the same as Waldman's, that is, musk isn't profitable but it is all this irrational exuberance driving this...and the inexorable quest to get rich quick in this society.

From what I’ve read Musk has to clear some pretty high hurdles to get that payout and given the competition from China’s cutting edge EVs I doubt he will achieve them;

https://finance.yahoo.com/news/heres-what-elon-musk-needs-to-do-to-earn-his-tesla-trillion-164739829.html

And then there’s this requirement he has to meet to get his SpaceX payout:

“According to the prospectus, he has been granted 1bn class B shares that vest – meaning, Musk gets full ownership of them – if SpaceX manages to achieve the “establishment of a permanent human colony on Mars with at least one million inhabitants”. “

https://www.theguardian.com/science/2026/may/21/elon-musk-trillion-dollar-spacex-flotation-takeaways

After reading the book “A City on Mars” I think that’s a wildly expensive pipe dream.

It seems a lot of people can't resist a con, even with a track record as noteworthy as Musk's. He and Trump recognize that quality in each other, in addition to the benefits from the lucrative contracts and tax breaks being doled out.
