“As Bill Kristol points out, instead of firing people, “Trump has to give the people he fires another job (and privately assure them they’ll still be in on the grift) so they don’t turn on him and spill the beans on all the corruption and illegality they’ve seen.””

He will do anything to stay out of prison as a pedophile. And I believe he is a pedophile. Thanks, Aaron. By the way, has Lewandowski been reassigned as well? 🙄

Gee! It’s so much easier than reading history about how horrible it was than lying during it and wondering if it will all end Disneyland.

How typical of Trump to fire her by social media, when she was out of town and speaking at a public event. That's his favorite MO, isn't it? Maximum humiliation for the victim whole the cowardly boss doesn't have to face her. He made his phony reputation as a tough businessman on "The Aoprentice" by firing people, but when it comes to actually doing it he hides in bunker.

All bullies are in fact all-coward.

I'm inclined to think Noem's firing comes from displeasing Trump by falsely claiming he OK'd her self-indulgent, self-advertisment.

I'm almost cheered by the selection of Mullin. There's no way in the world he could be competent running ICE and I'd worry about someone competent running that organization. There's no way in the world that anyone Trump picks would be anything but nasty and unethical.

I anticipate lots of mirth coming from the statements of Mullin though I guess it's easier to laugh when you're viewing things from Australia and it's not your government that's full of malicious clowns. My sympathy for the fatally too few Americans who voted against him.

And yet, for all the noise, there will be no accountability … there will be no shame. Rather like Kimberly Guillfoyle, Noem will be trundled off to some Siberia, still exalting herself.

Illegal entry into the US is a misdemeanor. Kristi Noem's repeated animal cruelty is a Class 6 felony in South Dakota. Let that sink in. And, if Noem had been convicted of this crime, there's a chance she wouldn't have become DHS secretary.

I don't know about that. It seems that being convicted of a crime is now a requirement for Republican office.

The entirety of this administration is a den of malignant narcissists and psychopaths.

While those of us who are reasonably self adjusted try to find a motivation for their abhorrent behavior, there isn’t one beyond that they are just hollow inside.

They hate embarrassment, and trump felt enough of it to fire her.

Representative Neguse knows this at some level, and knows how to use questions to embarrass her, and thus, embarrass TFG.

Trump is so full of shame that he cannot face mistakes directly, and uses social media to fire her. All of this just shows how weak the whole administration is.

Well, he kinda fired her. She still has a job. See Bill Kristol's comment.

Mullin? Another cultish apparatchik.

I follow PN, gratefully and respectfully. It's hard to embrace "bungling', though. That suggests that some other more rational, legitimate avenues were available to kn to accomplish all the criminality and evil she created/performed -- all the while she dodged perjury traps and disloyalty accusations. Akin to 'bungling' by the Third Reich.

Markwayne Mullen will need to be confirmed by the Senate, and that starts with the relevant committee hearings. The Chair of that committee is everyone's favorite Libertarian, Rand Paul, whom Mullen has repeatedly insulted. Should be fun.
