I am grimly comfortable that the Republicans will, indeed probably have, cut their political throat. But oh boy what a lot of people will needlessly suffer because they were given power.

In the end, how many of the American people will pay the price for this battle taking place in Washington? I just watched a video that addresses the topic which Mike “Despicable “ Johnson is so good at lying about- the statement that the Democrats want to give Medicaid to undocumented individuals. He spews his rhetoric while knowing that it isn’t true- so Christian of him!

Lying through his teeth—VERY Christian of Mike Johnson.

Very Christian of most so-called "Christians", honestly, which is why I can't get on board with "Christian Liberals" who have finally realized that yes, Donald Trump's brand of "Christianity" is that of the Antichrist.

The closeted gay man will see burning in hell for all his lies…and I’m an atheist saying this because it’s exactly what the little piece of shit deserves.

Noah, you are so right: the worst thing the Dems could do is capitulate as they did in March and hand the MAGAts a way out of the dilemma they created. I wake up every morning hoping that Dems have not thrown in the towel. The very idea that the Bible-thumping, lizard-lipped, sanctimonious Little Mikie Johnson can stand there and blatantly state that his party is the one working for healthcare is blasphemous and a damn lie (see the 9th of the 10 commandments in the Old Testament, brother Mikie).

People were always going to suffer because in Trumps administration the cruelty is the point. There is a portion of the republican administration and electorate that, in the abstact, think civil war is the only way to settle things at this point. The problem is Trump wants war with the Democrats. While his constituents want war with the oligarchy but don't seem to be able to figure out who that is.

I think the Democrats' strategy to focus only on health care is a mistake. More important things are going on. If Republicans offer some concession on the ACA subsidies and that ends the "negotiation," then they won't have to own their priorities, will they? Yet we will still be barreling into authoritarianism under Republican control across the board.

“The only way Democrats can make things worse for themselves or for the country at this point is by caving.”

Yes, that sums it up nicely. I hope they realize that…

I love how, in MAGA world where everything is opposite, sending the House home for two weeks when they should be in session = working around the clock 🙄
