Today, as a bonus for subscribers, we’re publishing a Q&A with Project 2025 expert Don Moynihan about the reality of Trump 2.0 and how it compares with what he expected during the campaign, when he was trying to sound the alarm about the Heritage Foundation’s authoritarian policy blueprint.

We conducted this interview a couple months ago — before the spectacular falling out between Trump and Musk — but it got swept away in the flood of breaking news we’ve covered since then. Nonetheless, Moynihan’s perspective on Project 2025 and its impact on American life is both insightful and evergreen, so the Q&A remains worthwhile.

If you’d like to read this article and have full access to everything we publish in Public Notice, please support us with a paid subscription (or email me if you’d like one but are on a tight budget).

I’m extremely proud of the work we publish day in and day out, but it doesn’t happen without paid subscribers. PN is 100 percent reader supported and paid subscribers are the only reason the vast majority of what we publish remains free for everyone. (Thank you to those of you who have already signed up!)

Without further ado, here’s the Q&A with Moynihan.
