I've been known to make a typo or two when posting replies/comments on PN and other outlets. However, the misspelling of "Carolian" in a court document just goes to show the Keystone Kops level of incompetence of these pesky wasps who are harassing James Comey. How about running spellcheck...hello. Like others, I have absolutely no respect for his actions against Hillary Clinton during the waning months of the 2016 presidential campaign that may have cost her the election (we'll never know for sure). I find it ironic that the most egregious liar of all time (I'm looking at you, orange-faced lunatic) is pursuing Comey for lying. If there is still justice on this earth, this case will be dismissed forthwith and the incompetent lawyers who wasted the court's time should be disbarred or at least sanctioned.

My immediate thought about that typo, as someone who's known several crackerjack legal secretaries and admin assistants in her time, is that there are no competent people in that office.

Fwiw, I've been thinking of the Keystone Kops a lot lately. Also of the Three Stooges, though the stooges in the current White House number many, many more than three.

Apparently nobody has spell check. The Three Stooges were geniuses compared to the current administration. Keystone Kops at least made you laugh. I don't think the judges are laughing.

Not in public, for sure. But in private, among confidants? I wouldn't be surprised if some of them occasionally indulged in "Can you believe what this guy said?"

And they did it twice. I probably learned how to spell Carolina in grade school. Just now, I typed c and it gave me Carolina as an option.

I bet it was spelled the way a Floridian would pronounce it.

What I don't understand is why these unethical incompetent lawyers aren't being disciplined.

AI would at least spell Carolina correctly. Is their copy of Wordperfect corrupt?

“North Carolian” is a typo indicating they're "North Caro-LYING" attorneys, so it's misspelled and accurate at the same time

I fail to find anything in this government amusing even if it is a government of the most incompetent. I do not like Comey, but like his false accusation and trial even less.

I am preparing for my own No Kings rally here in Bremen, Germany on Saturday. I spent the last one marching in Chicago. This one will be much more intimate.

I have taken to escaping from the news and the more serious book my book club is reading, which is "Money, Lies and God" by Katherine Stewart with watching the series "Call the Midwife." It provides nice escape from the times, and a firm reminder that life before birth control and legal abortion was about babies, babies, babies. Not an easy time for women. Not in the East End of London, not in Chicago and not in Bremen. I do not want to go back to the world that Trump, pretending to be one of his Christian Nationalist followers is building for us.

But though laughter may not be the *best* medicine, it is an important survival skill. Taking these people and this administration too seriously is an Rx for cynicism and despair.

True and I seek out opportunities for laughter. Just do not find this regime provides me with source material although I appreciate the Late Night Comics making fun. Mostly, I try to think about other things for my laughs. Appreciate Jeff Tiedrich for his humor.

a side quest for Bremen...have you been to the Roselius Haus museum? Ludwig is an ancestor of mine and I've been curious what it's like.

No cate. I had not even heard of it. Thanks for the recommendation.

Thanks for that recommendation. We just started it. We are in the first section and reading chapters 3 and 4 for our next discussion. We are all finding it quite good, although I was at the hospital while reading it and it was making me feel sick. I just find the people so hateful, but I also know people like that. I mean some of the parents at the school in which I taught would be what she calls the Founders.

The Democrats Abroad UK book club is reading it in December and having her as their guest, so we decided to have our own discussions, but join theirs as well. We might read a couple of other books in between.

They’re all incompetent at their jobs which is maybe the things that saves the rest of us eventually. But not before a hell of a lot of pain and damage is inflicted on everyone else.

As a constituent of Todd Gilbert, who resigned from the VA House of Delegates to take the job under Trump, and then resigned, here is a certain joyful karma here. Gilbert was all in for Trump in all three elections. He raised money for him. He was the Virginia Speaker of the House and he is MAGA.

For Trump to call Gilbert RINO brings me great joy. Just for the record, Gilbert is now the assistant Commonwealth's attorney in Page County VA.

Yeah, find that on the map.

Thank you, Liz. I didn’t like the underhanded bs Comey pulled in 2016 right before the election, but I don’t believe this indictment is justified at all. It is malicious and vindictive. For anyone representing 47 on this, they’re deluding themselves. He can’t keep himself from saying the quiet part out loud.

That bs Comey pulled helped President Orange Snake (aka POS). He has less gratitude for people who help him than that venomous snake he liked to quote. “You knew damn well I was a snake before you took me in” - should be on the "tombstone" of everyone who every helped him.

I know…. Comey woke up way too late, or his conscience kicked in way too late. Either way, if 47 succeeds with this, it won’t be good for any of us.

These vindictive prosecutions are made possible by John Roberts and the Fash Five. In Trump v. US. Roberts gave Trump full control of the prosecutorial power of the federal government and said it was a core executive function, so he can't be held accountable for anything he does, no matter how appalling. As long as he or some other corrupt Republican is in power, he can pardon those who do his bidding, and we know he will.

Roberts and the other anti-democracy judges just tossed out a norm that has operated our entire history as a nation without a word of explanation.

Roberts, Thomas, Alito, Gorsuch, Kavanaugh, and Barrett are undermining democracy.

And there's nothing you can do about it as long as neither party cares about democracy more than their own perks.
