โโฆagainst tyranny they apparently happily support so long as that oppression is delivered unto liberals in service to WHITE SUPREMACY.โ Fixed it for you.
I'd got used to the conservatives not honouring the constiution, despite their invoking of its name as though it is holy writ. But until two weeks ago I was sure the conservatives really, really believed in the 2nd Amendment as an (unlikely) bulwark against tyranny. Fool me twice, shame on me I guess.
I can't help wondering if Trump said 2+2=5 and the conservative media picked it up, whether a large number of the conservatives would start believing this and that saying otherwise was an example of lefty experts impinging on their free speech and that those who disagree reflect the indoctrination that happens in USA's godless schools.
I think the history of white supremacy is a big factor you could have referenced. I was ignorant to the fact that most police forces were built to protect โpropertyโ until I heard about it during the George Floyd murder protests. I think it is a big part of why people of color do not call the police because they have not only been greeted with violence and murder in police interactions but they know fundamentally the institution was built to protect the property of white men. So in that light, Rittenhouse and all the J6 Insurrectionists were deputized. And the White House belonged to Trump in their eyes.
Rittenhouse first killed someone. The two guys he shot next were trying to stop him. The judge was completely biased. I am from the county next to Kenosha. Watched the whole thing.
Letter from Germans to Americans. I first heard it read by a grannie of "Omas gegen Rechts" Grannies against the Far Right. I could not find a link so I am sharing this one of a man reading their message.
Every demonstration against the far right that I go to in Germany has Omas singing their songs of protest. People in other countries are rooting for the American opposition to the fascism in the regime. We are the opposition. Most Americans are opposing in the US, and some of us are opposing from Abroad. The two/three organizations I belong to are Democrats Abroad
While we the opposition are resisting, others in the world are with us.
I understand you are being facetious about actually promoting violence retribution. We are the opposition and the world is finally watching us, and by showing up and resisting we are gaining support far and wide, and helping the world to understand that being American does not mean supporting Trump and his policies.
Today I once again got a request to spread a petition saying to keep ICE out of Europe. If you read German it will make more sense, but you can see the number that have signed it so far. And there are two more such petitions going around to end up at the Federal Government. https://weact.campact.de/petitions/trump-stoppen-einreiseverbot-fur-ice-agenten-in-die-eu
When I saw Trump's killers on ICE murder Good and Pretti, I, too, thought of Rittenhouse. But I did so for a different reason. I had watched the videos of Rittenhouse's shootings, and I was impressed by the restraint he had demonstrated in striking contrast to the reckless and wanton shootings by the killers on ICE.
Good and Pretti were shot by killers who shot to kill, not merely to protect themselves or anyone else from any threat. The proof was in the shooting. Neither Good nor Pretti posed any threat to anyone when they were shot. Good was turning her car away from her shooter when he shot her in the head. Even after Good was shot in the head and obviously was moving away from her killer, he continued to shoot. The shooting of Pretti was even worse. Pretti had his back turned to his killer(s), and he was down on his knees after he'd already been stripped of the pistol he merely wore in a holster. Multiple shooters continued to shoot into Pretti's body long after he obviously was not a danger to anyone. Strikingly and shockingly, the killers on ICE who shot Good and Pretti continued shooting well after Good or Pretti even possibly could have constituted a threat to anyone. They shot to kill and they did kill.
Now, look again at the videos of Rittenhouse's shootings. Each time, Rittenhouse shot only when actually attacked. Each time, he fired very few shots. Each time, he refrained from continuing to shoot at anyone beyond the point at which a person actually was attacking him. Each time, he at least appeared to try to refrained from killing anyone. It speaks volumes about the purported trained professionals and purported public servants on ICE that they did everything wrong that even an untrained, civilian seventeen year old did not do. An untrained, civilian seventeen year old demonstrated far more professionalism and restraint than people who purport to be trained professionals and purport to be public servants.
Trump thinks like a child. He does not 'lie' he simply says the words that get him what he wants. Since he wants a LOT, he says a lot of words to get what he wants.
Republicans respond to this because they want a lot too. They (like Trump) think like children. They do not understand let alone respect rules. They do not care about 'other' people. They want what they want and they say what ever helps them get what they want.
They vote for Trump because he tells them what they want to believe, that they will get what they want.
Children have very selective memories, that are very focused on what they want. Rules are only useful to a child if it helps them get what they want. The very concepts of compassion, fairness, logic, rules that apply to everyone and everything are not easily grasped by children and typically take a lot of effort to teach them. Apparently most Republicans never really learned those concepts.
If you want to 'reach' Republicans, treat them like children. Use the vocabulary of children. Be prepared to deliver actual consequences. They quickly learn the difference between 'threats' and 'promises'. Never threaten them, simply promise the consequences, then deliver on your promises.
Trump and his fellow Republicans have learned that the 'threat' of laws against them are often not followed up on, or are later 'forgiven' if they flatter the right adults...
Now, for 'those' people, the rules are important, because 'those' people are scary. They don't want what the 'children' (Republicans) want, and they have to be stopped. Remember, compassion is a learned trait for most every child, especially compassion for strangers.
The ~40% who support Trump's policies are children, full of lies, hate, fear, greed and low to no compassion. As a society we have failed them. We can do better.
We did not teach them after the civil war about compassion and fair play. We did not teach them after the 'Scopes Monkey Trial' about logic and facts. We did not teach them after the cults of the 70's and many other times about how persuasion techniques work. We did not teach them to spot scams and lies.
We did not teach these and many other lessons because powerful groups such as 'Big business', the Rich, Religions, Politicians and Publishers, media... did not want people to learn those lessons, because without those lessons the people were much easier to fool, manipulate, take advantage of, to cheat them, control them...
Yes, lots of people did learn their lessons, but so much of our school was focused on making our children into 'good employees' that we barely considered making them into good citizens with a brief course on government, which most did not pay attention to.
So much of our media was focused on entertainment. Then our entertainment became 'Reality TV' and very biased, deceptive political news. Certain media, such as murder mysteries, some lawyer shows... helped to teach about logic and laws and criminals.
Certainly (apparently) more than half learned at least some these important lessons, but we could have and should do better. You do not blame the child for not learning a lesson they were never taught. It is the duty of the adults to teach the children.

Indeed. Racism is still a dominant part of MAGA โ after all, the โAgainโ describes a time when segregation was the law.

And Italy is having this protest. They have been having protests a lot of late about ICE coming to the Winter Olympics. ICE Out Now! Except Rittenhouse drove 200 miles out of his way for the opportunity to choose his shots.
Perhaps Democratic voters should start buying guns in droves. There will be restrictions on gun sales post haste.
Especially if those Democratic voters do not have the preferred skin color of most of MAGA.
Exactly. Perhaps one of โourโ billionaires should fund this experiment?
This is always how Republicans have treated the second amendment.๐

For Trump, rules change as the whim blows. Also noteworthy, is the extension of Kavananaugh Stops to include white protesters.
