Miller's own family has provided evidence of what you say for several years. There is a great deal of information readily available that describes his early development and his increasingly deteriorating separation from reality. He seems not to be a part of this world. His associations with largely failed organizations are also well documented.
The cowardice/spinelessness of republicans, the mainstream media, select law firms, select business moguls, etc. is beyond distressing. As for Steven Miller. Terry Moran was right and it is pathetic that ABC suspended him. Sad how only Trump and his team are allowed Free Speech. And also interesting about Stephen Miller and his animosity towards non-white immigrants....I believe his wife is a non-white immigrant.
I know you’re not being held to the same high standards as reporters like Moran, but I’m not sure why you would insinuate that Katie Rose Waldman, born in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, would be a non-white immigrant.
To quote from Shakespeare's Measure for Measure: "And truth is truth until the end of reckoning." Terry Moran spoke the truth, and the snowflakes in the White House can't handle the truth. And yet, they freely use derogatory language and inaccurate statements to attack others. Once again, the White House is held to no standards while the media is held to a twisted one that proclaims they cannot tell the truth without "telling the other side." ABC, and soon CBS, will bow to it. PBS, too, has been affected. I had to turn off the PBS News Hour last night when after they spoke with a Democratic congresswoman from the Los Angeles area, they had a Republican representative (not sure what area) who was allowed to spout lies about how the state was at fault for not working with the federal government, and she was being allowed to do so unchallenged. That both-sides coverage, with no pushback, has caused me to watch the News Hour only sporadically, and it used to be my place for accurate news.
Well said! I made many of the same arguments recently when questioning someone who absurdly criticized Moran for breaking some unwritten law that as a reporter, he is not entitled to stating something sounding like an opinion, no matter how accurate or flat-out factual it may be. The individual even said that they agreed with Moran, which made their argument even weaker!
Stephen Miller is hateful...and ABC, as usual, are a bunch of spineless cowards and toadying courtiers who suck up to the Republican Party NEARLY as much as Faux Noize does!
Don't know if I said it here or elsewhere, but ABC used to have Alt-Right convicted felon Dinesh D'Souza as one of their regular talking heads—and produced a "docudrama" based on something D'Souza wrote (can't be arsed, given it's him, to find out if it was a screenplay, or a book, or just something he spat out on a table napkin) which...somehow...blamed Bill Clinton for 9/11, an event which happened nearly nine months AFTER he left the White House!
I believe the Clintons are guilty of a LOT of things—but even I went, "Exsqueeze me?", when I heard that one!
We’ve lived through wars, recessions, civil rights marches, and moments that tested the soul of our nation. Today, we face another such moment — one that demands our wisdom, our courage, and our voices.
🚨 Our military is being used against American citizens on American soil.
Let that sink in. Peaceful protestors — everyday Americans — are being met with force, intimidation, and surveillance. These are not isolated incidents. This is by intentional design.
🔍 Reports confirm that Stephen Miller, top Trump advisor, has called for a recent increase in ICE raids, targeting communities with heavy minority populations. These actions are tearing apart families and leaving children behind in fear. “Collateral damage” is treated like an acceptable consequence.
And under Donald Trump’s leadership, the use of federal agents and military force against peaceful protests has blurred the line between public safety and authoritarian control.
🕊️ But we are not powerless. In fact, we are essential.
As grandparents, elders, and lifelong patriots — we must be the steady hands that guide our families through this storm. Our grandchildren are watching. Let us teach them what real love of country looks like.
Here’s how to stand tall:
✅ Contact your state and federal representatives — tell them we oppose military force against protestors and the inhumane ICE raids.
✅ Support independent media — they are documenting what others won’t.
✅ Talk to your grandchildren and neighbors — share the truth, especially with those misled by propaganda.
✅ Peacefully protest, write, speak out — even from our porches and living rooms.
🗣️ This is our moment for GOOD TROUBLE.
We marched for civil rights. We stood up for women’s rights. We spoke out during Vietnam. Now, we stand for democracy.
🇺🇸 Let us rise once more — not with fear, but with fierce love for our country and the people in it.
In Solidarity,

Asymetric warfare - one side is allowed to say the most vile things imaginable and smear anyone they like, the other side is limited even in ther word choice. The fainting spells and fake outrage by Leavitt, Miller et al afterwards is perhaps even more galling. It's. All. An. Act.
The thing I find most funny about this, yet not funny, is how some of these people carry on seemingly not understanding that their own lives are in danger. If Miller were in a bar huffing about, he would likely wind up on the floor or on the street, via a window.
Authoritarians are dumb. Hate dulls one’s ability to accurately see what might happen to them if they continue their behavior.
They’re looking to the past for guidance without contemplating the situation on the ground. They look at mistakes made by other authoritarians of the past and think they can fix those mistakes, based on past conditions. They fail to understand the extent to which they’ve armed the citizenry.
Kind of like, have you ever watched a WWII documentary where Mussolini or Hitler are giving a speech, or famous SS officers are all smiling and sig heiling? Seemingly not understanding their fate lies in the bottom of a bunker, being hung upside down for the citizens to beat upon, or perhaps unceremoniously tried and executed within days, like Ceacescu. They never see their support crumbling either, until it’s too late.
The writer correctly criticizes the 'bothsideism' so prevalent in mainstream media, but I am waiting for more commentary on the bothsideism regarding the criticism of Trump's attack on LA while generally supporting the military subjugation of the Palestinian people, with the full support of the US.
The US and Israeli military (and many local police forces) share training, technology and advisers regularly. Military leaders from both countries regularly exchange ideas and information on civilian crowd control and information control (read: propaganda).
For some time now liberals in the US media and in government have maintained widely diverging views on domestic and foreign policy, particularly regarding Israel. Critics rightly condemn Trump's attacks on free speech and use of the military against civilians while supporting those same actions regarding Israel.
The bothsideism is clear when virtually any criticism in the media of Israel must immediately be followed up with an equal condemnation of Palestinians disregarding the obvious facts that Israel is the occupying force and the enforcer of apartheid and military rule, which is committing open genocide on a trapped, stateless people.
All the major networks allow Trump to spout lies and attack the competence of people with whom he disagrees, but provide no pushback about these lies. I don’t waste my time watching ABC, CBS or NBC. I only watch BBC or PBS.
There is no case for objectivity here as though Miller is just an opposing point of view when it is not, ABC is refusing to make a vitally important moral judgement.
Is ABC is saying that they would have had to be objective about the evil views and advice of Joseph Goebbels to Hitler? ABC betting on the wrong horse, they are afraid for themselves alone which never works out or works for the short term, if it does that.
Thank you, Noah, for standing with Terry Moran. I was very disappointed that Margaret Sullivan didn't in her recent Substack:
"I’m amazed that Moran posted what he did. It’s well outside the bounds of what straight-news reporters do. It’s more than just calling a lie a lie, or identifying a statement as racist — all of which I think is necessary. Moran is not a pundit or a columnist or any other kind of opinion journalist. It’s hard to imagine a news reporter — say, David Sanger of the New York Times, or Carol Leonnig of the Washington Post, going that far. They may write an analysis piece that isn’t “just the facts” of hard-news reporting, but that’s about it.
Traditional newsrooms don’t look kindly on reporters being so outspoken. When reporter Wesley Lowery tweeted his opinions while at the Washington Post, then-editor Marty Baron told him he should be a columnist — not a reporter — if that’s what he wanted to do. Lowery left the paper.
I would hate to see Moran — with his worthy career at ABC News, where he’s been for almost 30 years — lose his job over this. I hope that the honchos at ABC let a brief suspension serve its purpose, and put him back to work."
She's so rarely wrong that this post is just shocking. Is she, too, now afraid of Trump?
We need more Terry Morans, not a news media intimidated by either Trump or their own editors. Journalism is not simply reporting "facts," it is about reporting facts within the larger context, and yes, adding the context of whether a politician or other official is hateful is entirely appropriate.
'Stephen Miller and Trump are hateful bigots. Independent journalists can still say that. Journalists at ABC can’t, because the president of the United States gets a veto over their coverage. That’s not democracy and it’s not a free press. It’s fascism."
